Long Island Regional Perinatal Forum

The Long Island Perinatal Forum was formed to improve the delivery of medical care to low income, at-risk pregnant women. The Forum promotes awareness among health care professionals about how to provide culturally competent care. It is one of 12 Regional Perinatal Forums throughout NYC established by the NYS Department of Health.

The members of the Long Island Perinatal Forum are SPC, the Nassau County Department of Health, and the three designated Regional Perinatal Centers—North Shore University Hospital, Winthrop University Hospital and University Hospital at SUNY Stony Brook.

Among our recent accomplishments was a Grand Round held for physicians focusing on depression and other perinatal mood disorders common among low-income pregnant women.
